Display Refresh Rate Test
Click the "Launch Fullscreen Test" button below to start this display refresh rate test. The tool will display the detected refresh rate (in Hz) of your monitor by measuring its frames per second (FPS). For example, a high-performance screen might run a 120hz refresh rate test to confirm its settings.
The number displayed on the screen is the real-time frame rate measurement from your browser. For the most accurate results, ensure no other demanding applications are running in the background.
Refresh Rate (Hz) vs. Frames Per Second (FPS)
Refresh Rate (Hz) is a characteristic of your monitor. It is the maximum number of times the screen can draw a new image every second. For example, a 120Hz monitor can refresh its picture 120 times per second.
Frames Per Second (FPS) is the number of images your computer is sending to the monitor each second. This test measures the FPS to determine the effective refresh rate your browser is able to achieve.
For the smoothest experience, your FPS should ideally match your monitor's refresh rate. Since your browser cannot run faster than your monitor, the detected FPS is a good approximation of your monitor's refresh rate. If the FPS is lower than expected, check your system's display settings.
